We Made History!
Help us Protect Lisa’s Historic Victory!

On Tuesday, November 2, Alaskans came together and supported our vision for the future that success depends on working together and putting Alaska first.

Our goal on election night was to end up with 40% of the vote and a lead of 10,000 votes in order to feel confident with our position heading into the count of absentee and question ballots that will occur over the next couple weeks. We exceeded our goals with 41% of the vote and a lead of about 13,500 votes.

The Division of Elections has announced they will begin counting write-in votes November 10. We have assembled a top-notch legal team to defend every Alaskan vote in this process. We need your help. We have set up the Alaska Voter Protection Fund to help pay for the legal costs. Individuals can contribute up to the legal limit of $2,400 and PACs can donate up to $5,000. These limits are independent of any donations previously made to the campaign. The funds can only be used for costs associated with the counting process.

Please help ensure that every Alaskan will have their vote counted and make a donation today.

Thank you Alaska!

We are poised to win and very confident. It is clear that we made history together last night by putting Alaska first! We exceeded our goals with 41% of the vote and a lead of 13,346.

But that’s not all we accomplished:

  • We announced this write-in campaign 46 days ago to give Alaskans a choice in this election– taking on a task that most Outside pundits said couldn’t be done;

  • We raised more than a half million dollars in seven weeks – a whopping fourth of it online;

  • We aired 18 TV spots, 24 radio spots, eight direct mail pieces, a half million phone calls, and managed over three million (3,000,000) impressions on our banner ads and web site. We blasted out an additional quarter million email blasts to prospective undecided voters – all in less than six weeks;

  • We were the subjects of more than 109 national news stories outside Alaska in major newspapers and TV stations – and more than 1,050 stories inside Alaska -- all in the last 46 days;

  • I logged thousands of miles going non-stop for all of those 46 days to Kenai, Homer, Seward, Eagle River, Wasilla, Palmer, Fairbanks, Nome, Bethel, Kodiak, Ketchikan, Petersburg, Juneau, North Pole, Kotzebue, Barrow, and places in between;

  • We placed more than 15,000 yard signs all over the state – 7,500 in Anchorage alone;

  • We had more than 500 volunteers who worked day and night for the last six weeks to work this incredible campaign story.

The story of my write-in campaign will be told and retold; it will change the definition of American politics. It newly redefines the where-with-all it takes to challenge the system and win. And it re-enforces what we all knew: in Alaska, anything is possible when you have a small group of people who are determined to change the world.

Every volunteer who was part of this campaign, every supporter who shared their ideas, and most importantly every Alaskan that made their voice heard in the booth can be proud of their role in writing a new history.

We will now wait as the Division of Elections counts the outstanding ballots. Once every Alaskan vote is tallied we will move to the process of ensuring that the write-in votes that were cast for me are properly counted.

Thank you for your continued support!

Sincerely,

Lisa Murkowski
